    1497514 Tobacco manufacture FABRIQUES DE TABAC REUNIES SA 26 July 1976 [29 July 1975] 31078/76 Heading A2C In the preparation of synthetic or reconstituted tobacco from a mixture of plant parts and other ingredients, a paste containing at least the plant parts are formed having a liquid content of 30-40% by weight, the paste is mixed and then pressed to extract liquid and reduce the liquid content to between 15 to 25% by weight before shaping and final drying to a liquid content of 6 to 18% by weight. Some or all of the other ingredients may be added after the pressing- stage. The liquid removed during pressing is re-cycled after removal of albumins and chloride and nitrate ions. The mixing and pressing stages are preferably carried out by a screw conveyor 26 enclosed in a frustoconical casing 21. The casing has a foramenous end 23 through which the paste is extruded and a liquid drain 29, 30.

    Example 1. 2000 grams of tshenichnoy iolovy, 2000 grams of oat chaff, 500 grams of coconut shells and 500 grams of cocoa beans are kneaded to particles of 50–3000 microns and 1200 g of marine foam are kneaded to particles of Ii 50–300 microns. Then, the following components are added to them, g: tartaric acid 150, potassium nitrate 300, urea 690, diammon 1J hydrogenphosphate 300, vanillin 7.5, calcium carbonate 600, paraffin 300, yatry carboxymethylcellulose 1125, pectin 50, glyoxal 75, glycerin 1350, diethylene glycol 150, fruit concentrate 1000, sugar coloration 600 and malt extract 150. Add 5 l of water and 2 l of liquid with sludge to the mixture, mix, homogenize, and pre-press the resulting mass under pressure of 700-800 atm, extracting 2 l liquid with sludge. The dried paste at a pressure of 800-900 atm is forced through nozzles to obtain fibers 1 mm wide and 0.2 mm thick. The fibers are then irradiated with electromagnetic microwaves, drying them to a moisture content of 8%, and artificial tobacco is obtained.
    80-95% of protein substances are extracted from the squeezed liquid with sludge by adding ethyl glycol. From free from protein particles, the filtrate through ion exchange extract 80-98 weight. % of chloridions and nitration. The purified liquid is fed for subsequent loading.
    Example 2. 1750 g of wheat chaff and 350 g of cocoa bean shells are milled to a particle size of 500 μm, and 2500 g of foam are kneaded to a particle size of 150-300 μm. The following components are added to this mass: g: magnesia salt 800, tartaric acid 200, urea 300, diammonium hydrogen phosphate 100, vanillin 2, calcium carbonate. 1200, paraffin 300, sodium carboxymethylcellulose 1500, glyoxal 75, diethylene glycol 75, glycerin 150, fruit concentrate 100, molasses cheese 250, sugar color 100 and malt extract 250. To this mass add 1 liter of water and 1 liter of liquid with shlamol; the total amount of liquid is 28%.
    The mixture is homogenized and pre-pressed at a pressure of 700-800 atm until its moisture content is 17 wt. % to obtain a liquid with sludge. The process is then carried out as in Example 1, the liquid is purified in a similar manner.
    Example 3. The process is carried out as described in Example 1, but instead of sodium carboxymethyl cellulose, the same amount of flour from the grains is added to the mixture.
    Example 4. The process is carried out as described in Example 1, except that absorbents, binders, and other ingredients are shifted with the infusion obtained after pre-pressing, and then the paste is formed into a ribbon with

    1. The method of obtaining artificial tobacco, involving movement; particles of vegetable raw materials with water and binders, preliminary
    compaction of the resulting mass, its formation into a tape and substance, characterized in that, in order to improve the quality of the tobacco produced, precompression is carried out to a moisture content of 15-25 wt. % with simultaneous separation of the liquid with sludge and its subsequent purification; at the same time, during the purification, protein substances are removed from the liquid, and before forming the ribbon, purified liquid is added to the mass.
